Exercising in Seremban, part 1 06/08/2011
It's hot. It's sticky. Perfect conditions for a swim. We used to swim at the pool at the private golf club in Rasah Kemayan, Seremban 2. But the water was cloudy and greenish at times, and you could see floaty bits in the water when you swim. Also, since it's a smallish pool (not full Olympic size), swimming space could get limited by the swim classes and sometimes groups of teenage boys would play vigorous games in the water--not the best when you have two small children learning to swim. But the shallow depth of water was ideal for kids to play at one end. So now we swim at the public pool at the Seremban 2 Sports Complex. There's an Olympic-size swimming pool, and a major attraction for the kids ... a water slide into the children's pool. Maintenance is still an issue: slime can still be seen on the tiles on the pool floor; wires protrude disconcertingly out of pool lights; the plank of a diving block once followed me into the water (much to the amusement of the boys). But at least the water is clean and refreshing (although a little too warm for my liking--can't be helped). Except, when the sun's out, it starts to burn your skin, turning you into a lighter shade of black. It would be ideal if we could swim before 9am, before the sun starts to beam over the trees. But the morning session is 9am-12pm. Nonetheless, good value exercise for RM 3.50 (adults) and RM 2.00 (children). At least you don't get too sticky. Add Comment |
