A morning with Dad, Jay and I 21/01/2012

On Saturday we went to the train station to catch a train to KL Sentral because we were going to the caryard to pick up our car. It broke down the other day while Daddy and I were in the car. The repairs were finished today. Before we got on the train we waited for 25 minutes because the train was late. On the way a nice Malay man on the train helped us get there because Daddy didn't know the way. And two people offered us their seats but we didn't sit down because we thought we might get out of the train in time because it was packed. When we were on the train we were squashed like sardines (see picture), and we were thrown backwards and forwards, left and right. On the second train we got to see the driver driving. He went 30 then 40 km/h. We had a ride in Uncle Anthony's big MPV. It had a television and it was very spacious. I loved the MPV but Daddy said it was too expensive to buy.

We picked up the car and we drove it back home. They fixed the gears in the car and put in a new stereo. On the way back we were dancing in the car, and Daddy was about to dance when a motorbike bumped into our side mirror--"BOOM!!" Daddy went "OOOHHH!!" It was very funny, we laughed and laughed. We had McDonalds to celebrate Daddy's and my birthdays. I ate a Filet-O-Fish hamburger, Sprite and chips. JJ had nuggets, Daddy also had a Filet-O-Fish.

I had a fantastic time.

Moving to Our New House, by Jay 16/12/2011

On Monday we moved into our new house in Alam Damai. A big red truck with five uncles came and moved all our furniture and boxes. Zac and I stayed at Aunty Natalie’s house while Mummy, Daddy and Sophie drove up and down from KL. We watched Ultraman, Ben 10, and Fireman Sam. Aunty Natalie made us watch Power Rangers too because it was her favourite movie from she was a kid. When we drove to KL one of the uncles helping to move house had to come in our car. It took two days to move house.

The next day my grandfather (Goong Goong) and my grandmother (Po Po) came. I like it when they come to visit because they buy me things, like a Ben 10 toy and my Transformers study book. They went to buy some lunch while me and Dad stayed home. For breakfast we had toast and cereal and biscuits. Today we did some homeschooling with Mummy—Let’s Read and guessing what some magnified things were, like sugar and wool.

The house is big and messy. It has boxes and toys everywhere. The house is green and white. My brother is sleeping on a bed, and I am sleeping on a mattress on the floor because my Goong Goong and Po Po are sleeping on my bed. I like my house because it’s big and strong, with lots of places to play.

Finding House Day, by Jay 07/11/2011

On Wednesday we went to Kuala Lumpur because we needed to rent a new house. All my family went. One agent showed us two houses. I liked the houses because they're big, and near a playground. In the second house, there was a family living in it. I liked the fan because it had lots of buttons. Another agent showed us one house, and we are going to get his house. It was a nice house with two stories. They were painting it and putting in kitchen cupboards.

We've still got one more thing to get, and it's a new car. Actually, a second hand car. We have one car only. I had a good time there and then we went straight home. And I got hungry on the way home, so I ate animal biscuits. There were lion biscuits, tiger biscuits, elephant biscuits, and bunny biscuits, and lots more others. Sophie cried because Zac said "Don't have too much biscuits as you'll get sick." And Zac said that to me as well. The end.

On Wednesday it was Deepavali (Festival of Lights) holiday so we went to KL to visit our cousins Lizzy and Isaac. Lizzy, Sophie, me and the maid, called Sol, watched Tinkerbell. I liked the movie because I liked watching Tinkerbell getting born, and it was funny, especially when Tinkerbell was trying to be a light fairy, but she accidentally got light on her bot-bot, and she got chased by the light bugs. JJ and Isaac watched Transformers. After that we all played lions but JJ couldn't stay still for long. I was the daddy lion, Lizzy was the mother lion, and JJ and Isaac were the brother lions. I liked playing lions because it was fun; I liked being the daddy lion.

For lunch we had Chinese roast pork with rice, and iced Milo. The grown-ups went out for Japanese without us. I wasn't happy because I love sushimi. But the grown-ups wanted to have a special talk together.

When we had to go home it was raining. Mummy drove because Daddy was away at a work, not fun, camp. There has been lots of lights and fireworks every night. Before, the lights and electricity went out because it is Deepavali and they used up all the electricity.

I like playing with Lizzy because she likes the same things as me, and JJ likes Isaac because they like the same things too. Lizzy and I like art and craft, such as drawing and painting, making things, and building castles. We also like watching the same movies. JJ and Isaac like playing transformers, and cars, and play fighting.

It was an excellent day; I had lots of fun.

Pudu preaching 31/10/2010

Today Peter preached on Psalm 80 at Pudu Chinese Methodist Church, KL. Some interesting facts:
1. Ezra Kok (Principal of STM) ministered at this church previously.
2. Peter had to sit on the stage, facing the congregation, during the service.
3. Just before the service started, Peter was asked to pray the congregational/pastoral prayer for the service.
4. There are tasty restaurants nearby. We enjoyed lunch at a claypot restaurant.

KL Excursion 10/10/2010

We recently drove up the North-South Highway to KL to catch up with Peter’s uncle and aunties (Stephen; Sue and Mimi). On the Sunday, we took the opportunity to visit two churches. In the morning we visited SMACC, where we were reminded, through Tim Nicholls, of God’s grace and sin’s consequences (Jacob’s deception; Gen 27). In the evening we visited CERC, where we were exhorted, through Robin Gan, to love one another and remain in Christ (John 14:15-15:7). That night we headed back down south exhausted but thankful to God for speaking to us in His Word through His servants, Tim and Robin. And we were spurred to continue our work of equipping leaders to teach the Bible from its agenda and within a biblical theology framework.

Sharing at BBK 29/04/2010

We had the privilege of sharing about our part in God's mission at BBK (Calvary Baptist Church) in KL on Sunday, our first gig in Malaysia. The churchfolk were welcoming and friendly, and I think they even understood what we said, despite our Aussie accent. Our thanks Pastor Siew Woh for inviting us, and Uncle Stephen for arranging the spot.
