About Malaysia
Malaysia is a vibrant multi-cultural and multi-religious society. The largest ethnic group are the Malay people who represent approximately 50% of the population and live mainly in Peninsular (West) Malaysia. Sizable Chinese (25%) and Indian (7%) communities also call Malaysia home. A myriad of indigenous ethnic groups with their own unique culture and heritage live predominantly in East Malaysia.
Islam—the official religion—co-exists with Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and various animistic beliefs.

OMF in Malaysia
The current focus of OMF in Malaysia is theological education. The aim is to strengthen the theological foundation of the church.
About Seminari Theoloji Malaysia (STM)
Established in 1979, STM is the training college for the Anglicans, Evangelical Lutherans, Presbyterians and Methodists in Malaysia. It also trains lay leaders through its extensive Theological Education by Extension (TEE) program. Currently, it is equipping over 100 full-time students and over 200 part-time students.
STM is increasingly becoming an important hub for affordable post-graduate training. It now has the full range of theological degrees--from DipTh to BD to MDiv to MTheol, MMin and DTheol and DMin. The overseas students draw from Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, China, Singapore, and Pakistan.
